Family Sleepover!

This weekend we had an awesome time with Sam's oldest brother Ben and his wife Katie (and their adorable Corgi named Oreo). It was a time to bask in the sun, enjoy simple joys of life, and just have fun!

Ben and Katie are two of the most hospitable, talented, fun-loving, thoughtful people I know. They are both rock solid in their faith and devotion to faith and family, and they are hilarious and so much fun to be around. AND. They are awaiting the arrival of a precious baby boy they will be adopting in just a couple months! It was so exciting to see the sweet little nursery they're setting up and imagine that special little one in there. We are so happy and thrilled for them and the birth parents they've matched with. Praying all goes smoothly with the birth, adoption, adjustments all around, etc. So many exciting things coming. We know they already are such incredible parents.

This weekend we enjoyed yummy meals and treats, going on a walk, playing at the park, freedom running around in the yard, games at night, chatting, playing with Oreo (note: Lucy terrorizing and chasing her, Isabel trying to take over her doggy bed, and Oliver crying in fear of her adorable presence...), and more!

Here's a fun look at some of the good times in the sun from this weekend! (All the professional-looking photos courtesy of Ben!)

(Oreo gave Lucy a puppy kiss. It was a REALLY good day!)

Ollie, the little lion in the jungle! This kid was so happy to be so free!

Expressive little Isabel Chloe LOVED trying to walk on grassy hill, and she kept getting up and getting up!

Lucy was an ecstatic princess in Katie's dress-up!

Monday morning we strolled to a park, played for a while, and later enjoyed more beautiful nature in Ben and Katie's yard. Lucy loved chasing Oreo, playing tag with Ben, and joining in on Ben and Sam's speedminton game.

Oliver just EXPLORED!!! This boy crawled all over the place and loved feeling the grass.

Isabel loved shaking flowers and twigs with leaves, and explored lots as well.

Several hawks (or turkey buzzards?) kept circling right above us and a couple swooped SUPER close to us!!! I wondered if they were noticing the babies, and I imagined punching a hawk. Luckily there was no need for violence against these birds.

This cloud looked like a baby elephant!

Oh Ollie doodle.

Not much better than enjoying beautiful scenery, surrounded by family, and being sat/bounced on by baby Isabel.

Thanks for the amazing time Ben and Katie! We love you guys and are so glad to be family!
